What is AutoMech?

AutoMech is your personal car concierge service, here to make your life easy when it comes to servicing your car. We help with routine car maintenance, mechanical repairs and detailing. We are here to help you with finding the right quotes, and making sure all the work is performed correctly.

Best of all, this happens without disrupting your day, as our concierges’ take your car in for servicing on your behalf. We do this by getting your car serviced when you are not using it, offering pick-up and drop-off from either your home or work or anywhere you may be that day.

What services does AutoMech provide?

How does AutoMech Work?

The process is as simple as 1-2-3
1. You request a service through our website here
2. Wait for AutoMech to get back to you with quotes within 24 hours – we work with the best shops!
3.Finalize the appointment and that’s it!

Why should I use AutoMech?

We all know car maintenance is inconvenient and time consuming. However, regular maintenance is important to keep your car working in the best operating condition. Performing regular maintenance will also help you prevent costly repairs. We help you take care of your car so you don’t have to, making sure your car never lets you down in the time of need.

How do I reach you if I need help?

We pride ourselves in using technology to make your life easier and hence we make it easy for you to get in touch with us using any method you prefer. What kind of insurance do you have?

We understand how important your car is to you. We are car lovers after all! We cover cars up-to $150,000 and will make sure we drive your car with utmost care. To make sure you are aware where your car is at all times, you will receive a text message as your car passes through each stage of service.

Payment & Pricing

How do payments work?

We pride ourselves in making the process seamless for you and this extends to payments and service receipts.

Payments are all handled online through our website. All you need to do it update your profile with your payment information and that’s it!

Once your car is returned to you, the payment is automatically processed based on the card on file. Don’t worry, all the information is securely stored and transmitted. AutoMech team members do not have access to your payment information and can only access the last four digits of your credit card number.

Why do I not see instant quotes?

Once you request a service through AutoMech, we shop around on your behalf to provide you with 2 or 3 quotes for the service and do all the research you may spend hours doing.

We are car enthusiasts who work with the best shops to provide the best service to our customers. We know what to look for and make sure the shops we work with do not upsell you on unnecessary repairs.

Does AutoMech make a commission from shops?

No, we do not make a commission from shops.

We are your ally and are here to make sure you get the best service for the price. Our loyalty lies with you, the car owner, and our service fee is already incorporated into the quotes you receive.

Service & Appointment

Where does my car get serviced?

AutoMech works with dealerships and independent mechanics. However, we only work with the best shops in each category. You will have complete visibility into the shops who provided you with a quote and finally the shop you choose to get the work done by.

Is there a diagnostics fee?

Yes, and this is one charge which is hard to estimate. Cars are complex – there are multiple sensors and electronics in cars these days which sometimes makes it hard to diagnose the issue. It can take a skilled technician time and sometimes requires expensive diagnostic equipment to get to the bottom of the issue.

However, we are not here to charge you unnecessarily. The diagnostic fee will depend on how long the diagnostic may take, so it may be free or it may cost money. We will try to give you an estimate and will let you know if the diagnostic will take longer than anticipated. In most cases the most if not all the diagnostic fee can be put towards the repair cost. Our goal is to make sure you get the very best service at the right price.

What if I don’t know what is wrong with my car?

If you do not know what is wrong with your car, please provide as much detail as possible when requesting the service. We may ask a few questions so to try to pin-point the issue. If we are unable to certainly say what the issue is, we will be happy to take your car in for a diagnostic to one of our trust worthy partners.

Do I get service receipts?

Yes! We document the whole process form beginning to end, and the final receipt includes all the information. The final receipt is emailed to you so you can always search for a copy in your email or access it through our website (coming soon)! That’s right, no longer you do you need to keep all the receipts in your glovebox or need to remember – when did I do xyz last? We store all your service history in one location no matter which shop works on your car.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We know you are busy and it may be that you need your car on the day it needs to be serviced. We allow cancellations 24 hours before your pick-up time without any charge. If the service is not cancelled 24 hours prior to the service, our minimum service fee will be charged regardless of the repair.

What if I already have a preferred repair shop?

Good question! We are happy to take your car in on your behalf to a shop you prefer, if that shop is located within an 8-mile radius of the pick-up and drop-off address. If you already have the appointment created and just need us to drop off and pick-up your car, we charge a flat fee based on our minimum service charge which can be found on our Services & Pricing page.
